Created by Nathaniel Tan in October 2006, Bangkit.net is designed to provide a shared communications platform for civil society and activists groups in Malaysia. Its tagline of “participate, cooperate, activate!” fuels the tripartite mission of the site – to function as an advocacy portal for civil society and activists groups, to provide a digital space as a medium for these groups to engage with the Malaysian public, and to be a source of information and inspiration for Malaysians interested in their causes.
